My Kid Wants a Halloween Costume That Doesn’t Exist

My son is obsessed with Octonauts, and he wants to be Captain Barnacles for Halloween. Okay, sounds good…but there is not a costume in existence that I can buy, which means, I have to make it. Fine. I’ll start gathering supplies and figure it out as I go…I mean it’s an undersea, adventuring, polar bear sea captain…how hard can it be, right?

I’ll keep you posted on how it goes, but in the meantime, would love to hear from anyone out there who also had a kid that has wanted to be something for Halloween that you ended up having to make the costume. My biggest fear is that I will make this thing, and Halloween will come, and my son will have changed his mind….then what? Lol

The fact is, we all want our kids to be happy, and we would pretty much do anything to make that possible. But I would be lying if I said I haven’t scoped out Facebook marketplace and other sources to see if anyone has a DIY Captain Barnacles costume for sale…(I mean, the end result is the same, right? Except with me not as stressed).

What do your kids want to be for Halloween??
