This is a recent article I did for the new and evolving series ThinkJr!, currently available on YouTube. They concentrate on creating engaging videos for kids ages 3-7, for help with developing a variety of skills, especially character building. I asked them if I could share some of the posts on the fithouse. This article focused specifically on bullying.
Whether your child is being bullied, is the bully, or a bystander — what do you do?
Things have been crazy busy! School starting, two hurricanes heading our way, and DIY projects galore! But I wanted to share a quick organizing hack using…binder clips!
So, just a quick post today, things have been crazy!
We decided to do some DIY projects this weekend, trying to add more of our accent color through more of our main living areas. (Can you guess what color it is)? 😉
One of my latest articles for the awesome company, MamaZen, was all about conquering mom fears. With a little bit of an adjustment, the tips also work when you use them to overcome other fears too — like fear of failure, fear of disappointing others (or yourself), and fear of not being true to yourself. Check them out to get the confidence boost you need to conquer your fears and reach higher heights.
My husband and I have started tackling a lot of our home improvement projects ourselves; it’s helped save us a lot of money, but we also know when we need to call in a pro. When it comes to renovation projects, my husband is really getting into it. A while ago I posted a blog about how we transformed our old, worn-out louver doors. My hubs was making his way through all of the different sets of louver doors in our house (there was a lot), ending with the biggest project – our bathroom in the master bedroom. I said I would update once they were done, so I’ve added it here, and I can’t believe how awesome they turned out!
My husband, son, and I recently spent four days in a cabin in the middle of the woods with no Wi-Fi, no TV, and pretty much no cell service. Most of the people we told this to had the same reaction…”Oh, how awful!” But, it was actually amazing!
Do you always have a plan for your money, or do you have no clue where your money went by halfway through the month? My husband and I are a combination of Thoughtful Spenders and Thoughtful Savers, we enjoy getting nice things and doing certain things, but only when we can afford it (most of the time…).
But, we have a plan of what we want our future to look like, so we have also set savings goals to work toward that picture.
Naturally, life happens, and things throw you off course, but it’s all about how you get back on track (or if you just change directions entirely). Having an emergency fund in place to handle those unexpected (and not so unexpected) emergencies can help turn them into inconveniences.
It’s not always an easy road to travel, but if you keep moving in the direction you want to go, you’ll eventually get there; it just takes some of us longer than others. One thing is for sure, you’ll come to crossroads – you will have to make choices, you will come to roadblocks, but if you decide to let the first roadblock you meet stop you or make you turn around, you’ll never get where you want to go. (And this is true with everything in life, not just money matters).
Personally, for me having peace of mind is worth more than almost anything else.
Whether you have a side hustle that brings in fluctuating income, or payment from your full-time job can vary from month to month, you’ll need to go the extra mile to figure out what your actual income is.
Think of two or three things that you REALLY want to do but you haven’t done them yet. Now, ask yourself, what are you waiting for? Why haven’t you done them?
Is it because you don’t have time? Is it because you aren’t sure how to start? Or is it because, just maybe, you’re afraid?
