It’s Okay To Say You’re NOT Okay

When crazy times hit and things are not how we expect them to be, sometimes we can lose ourselves in trying to keep a brave face. We may smile and say everything’s fine for the sake of our kids, our spouse, our friends, and family, but in all honesty, who would be “okay” with a situation like the COVID19 quarantine reality?

Enjoy your life without stress

This was a great blog from “cooking without limits” that I wanted to share because it goes hand in hand with building a “fit house.” Too much stress is a major obstacle to achieving so many goals, whether it’s getting healthy, getting organized or just enjoying life. Again, it’s a cycle…too much stress brings those things down and causes more stress…so if you can reduce stress by taking steps to get healthy and enjoy life, then you can continue to reduce stress and grow in health and happiness. If you haven’t already checked out “cooking without limits” blog, please do! Such beautiful photography and great info!

Let’s talk about stress. Why? Because we need to talk about the elephant in the room.  Just kidding.  April is Stress Awareness Month so I thought to write a few words about it.

I am not an expert in stress, but in the last years I decided that I want to live my life in my own tearms.  Stressing very much was one of my problems, but in time, I managed to claim control of some things in my life and forget about stress. You can do it, too. Small steps, like babies, but on long term, big steps in improving your life.  So let’s start our journey about how to actually live your life without stress.

Managing stress is all about taking charge: of your thoughts, emotions, schedule, and the way you deal with problems.

Stress management starts with identifying the sources of stress in your life. This is…

Are You Ready for Summer?

And no, I don’t just mean ready to put on a bathing suit!

Summer is fast approaching! For some that means vacation, for others it means schedules that are turned upside down and for many it means, “How many excuses can I come up with to avoid wearing a bathing suit?” For me, it means a completely different routine from the rest of my year. If you’re like me, having a different routine can sometimes make it more difficult to stick with our health and fitness goals…sometimes, it may make it easier…but for sure – it changes things.

So, as summer nears, keep some things in mind…summer will come and go, you will make it through because time stops for no man (or woman) so the only thing you can control is how are you going to face it? Head on with goals and a plan or running blindly into the abyss? Take some time now to come up with some goals you want to accomplish this summer – write them out, make them specific and give them a deadline and how you are going to work towards them. It might be you want to lose weight, tone up, overcome a personal obstacle or fear, get the house organized – whatever it may be you will have more success if you keep it realistic, clearly defined and go forward with a plan.

If health and fitness need to get a refocus in your life around this time of year, then you may want to find a workout buddy, plan some exercise time into your summer schedule now, create some menu ideas, do a cleanse (I’m starting mine Sunday if you want to join me!) and/or re-evaluate your AdvoCare plan with your Advo Coach. Wherever your journey takes you this summer I wish you the best, and encourage you to always press forward – all it takes to go forward is one step at a time in the right direction. Happy summer!

One thing is almost for certain – your kids are looking forward to summer, A LOT! Make sure they are staying engaged in physical activity, eating healthy options, and not spending too much time on the couch, playing video games, or raiding the pantry. Help them set up good habits today that they can carry with them for a lifetime. Make it a family affair! little eyes are always watching…always…
