4 Lessons Learned from Animals About Life During COVID-19

We finally got to visit the zoo today after three months away (we usually go quite often). My son was super excited since he had been worrying that the animals probably missed him.

As we strolled through the pretty empty (but really nice and enjoyable and I was so happy to go somewhere) zoo, I couldn’t help but relate some of our current stay-at-home scenarios with some of the amazing animals we got to see.

We might be practicing social distancing, but it’s brought our immediate family even closer. We’ve basically been on top of each other 24/7 for the past few months. Of course, while the ladies were outside watching the cubs, the male was inside the cave… 😉20200605_151758_hdr2342458673327125836.jpg

We ALL could use a haircut, but it’s okay to show off your shaggy do! 🙂close-up of shaggy headed llama

No matter what you’re going through, be proud to show the world who you are, like this pretty peacock. I swear he walked up and did this just for the photo op!

We have to roll with the punches and handle what comes our way. For example, this is what I imagined I’d look like after quarantine (you know because of all the time to work out, eat healthy, and….sorry, I can’t stop laughing….)

But, in my case, this look is more realistic…  😉  And with everything that’s happening right now, it’s fine, I’m staying chill like this dude.

In all seriousness, we ended up having a great family-fun day, which is something we usually don’t get to do on a Friday since my son would normally be at his early learning center while my husband and I work; so there have been some good times for sure out of all of this…

Even on the days I feel like this guy… (statue of a local legend at our zoo – the Rougarou, or cajun werewolf).

Until next time…
